The Group Sessions

Are two hours in duration, the first hour is about creative engagement - painting, poetry, crafts, yoga, etc followed by refreshments and an open forum where participants share their happy migration stories and experiences over a cup of chai and chat.

I haven't danced like that since I was a young girl. Thank you for reviving so many memories. Cant wait for the next session!

So many memories of the 60's and 70's, I remember the milkman would come, we get bread milk and juice and would leave the money outside. No one would take it, sometimes we would not be home for a few days and still the money was left outside.

A Marriage Proposal

30th - 31st March 2024

Midlands Arts Centre, Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, B12 9QH

Did someone say Marriage?
It’s time to embrace the 1960’s! Set in the rural countryside of England and the vibrant backdrop of Jalandhar, Punjab amidst Easter and Vaisakhi celebrations.
Two families at the height of their selfishness and stubbornness laugh, explode and exploit as a nervous wreck suitor, dressed in his finest clothes arrives at Chubukov family farm.

See this uplifting and painfully funny adaptation of Anton Chekov’s A Marriage Proposal, a farce on the preposterous business of courtship and marriage. Tempers flare, love blooms and guns fire all over again!

Experience the fusion of two versions of culture on one stage, in Hindi and English.
